Celebrity Cruises — long celebrated for their modern luxury ocean ships — is bringing that same elevated experience to river cruising. First sailings begin August 2027, and 2028 is now fully on sale across the Rhine, Danube, Dutch Waterways, and Lower Danube.
With just 172 guests per sailing (86 staterooms, double occupancy), Celebrity River ships offer an intimacy that larger vessels can't match — while delivering the premium amenities, signature dining venues, and genuine service their loyal guests expect.
This is one of the most inclusive river products at launch. Drinks, excursions, and Wi-Fi are all in the base fare. And with 2027 already sold out, the demand is real — 2028 is the opportunity.

Families Welcome — Kids Age 4+
Celebrity River is one of the most family-flexible river lines available. Children as young as 4 years old are permitted — a significant differentiator from Viking, which has no minimum age policy that allows kids at all.
Kids must be in the same cabin as an adult guardian. All staterooms are double occupancy only — no third berths or connecting rooms. There's no dedicated kids programming, so this is a shared adult experience — but it's far more family-accessible than most river lines.
Best fit for: Families with older kids (8+) who can appreciate the experience. Not a replacement for Tauck Bridges or Adventures by Disney, but a great option for families who want a premium river experience together.
